Two (2) years after being awarded the Silver Medal for NABIM’s (National Association of British and Irish Flour Milling) Advanced Certificate and subsequently accepting the invitation to pursue the Gold Award, Ms. Lanel Black, Quality Assurance Manager at the East Caribbean Group of Companies (ECGC) has completed a thesis and has been awarded the prestigious NABIM Gold Award.

Ms. Black is the first from the Caribbean or Latin America to be selected as the recipient of this award!

She presented on the topic “Utilizing Six Sigma’s DMAIC model to improve flour mill balance, mill performance, efficiency, finished product quality, extraction, and profitability.”  It was judged “well worthy of the Gold Medal” by the Assessment Panel of NABIM, and appreciation was extended to Ms. Black for the quality of work she presented.

From the commencement of her employment at ECGC, Lanel has diligently focused on attaining her goals. This award is one of her many achievements of which we are proud.

This honor is considered the highest possible achievement in NABIM’s assessment programme. However, Ms. Black remains steadfast in her pursuit of further accolades towards self-development.

The ECGC family congratulates Ms.  Black on this illustrious achievement and wishes her continued success in her endeavours.
